First and foremost, learning is different for everyone and therefore music lessons should be too.
Generally, she begins lessons by teaching students the basics of the keyboard and of reading music.
From there, the lessons move in whichever direction the student is most interested in. Sometimes that’s Royal Conservatory and classical music, other times it’s more pop music centered, and other students prefer instrumental music such as pieces from film scores. She has a few students who are very interested in theory and some who have zero interest in it. She also has students who come to her to learn how to write and arrange their own music and to combine the skills of playing piano and singing.
